My Message

My name is Victoria Kaulback and I am 22 years old living in Hamilton, Ontario. I am in my final year of a BA in Psychology through Queen’s University. I graduated from the Pathways Hamilton program in 2013 from Cathedral High School. My journey through high school was not easy. In grade 11, I developed an eating disorder that led me down a dark path, and eventually landed me in McMaster Children’s Hospital when I was in grade 12. At the age of 17, I should have been enjoying my last year of high school, having fun with friends, and looking forward to post-secondary, but I wasn’t. My journey to recovery was very hard, but I was so lucky to have the Pathways program to help me, and I was able to graduate highschool on time, despite being hospitalized for several months.

Battling several mental illnesses, I took to running as a form of therapy and recovery. I am running the Longboat Toronto Island 10k Run on September 10th, 2017 as a way to give back to the program that helped me graduate highschool. Pathways to Education helped me during the hardest time of my life, and I cannot thank the progam enough for helping me make my way through school.

I am currently on the Pathways to Education Alumni Committee and my goal is to expand the Pathways program to different areas of Hamilton.
